Facilities

The design and building of a new facility or re-imagining the design of existing facility that is fit for purpose can be a stressful and difficult process - it is not always easy to see ‘into the future’

Matthew was part of a team instrumental in the design of the new National Breeding Centre for Guide Dogs, completed in 2011. Huge experience has been gained in the project management, requirements and logistics of such an ambitious build.

From timely communications to all stakeholders, liaison with architects and builders, and planning effectively to ensure timescales are reasonable and achievable, Canine Strategies can support and advise accordingly.

Often considerable funding is required to fulfil such a project and Canine Strategies can also support with documenting and justifying the spend based on clear and demonstrable benefits to the organisation. In other words, explaining clearly the ‘why’ the build is required. Further, a benefits realisation plan can be produced to evidence the benefits that will be achieved, detailing the what, when and how.

Once built, facility management is essential to ensure it is maintained and cared for appropriately to meets all users needs. Canine Strategies can support recruitment and advise on the specific qualities required based on many years of experience working with several similar roles
